Choi Eun-seol (Shin Se-kyung) comes to the house to see that her parents have been murdered. When the killer was interrupted, he ran away, but was hit by a car. It was later discovered that Eun-seol's parents had engraved a barcode on their skin, the work of the serial killer "Barcode". The main detective in the case, Oh Jae-pyo (Jung In-gi), realizes that Eun-seol's daughter, who is now in a coma, is the only living witness. That night, Choi Mu-gak (Yoo-chun Park) is in the hospital to visit his younger sister Choi Eun-seol (Kim So-hyun), who is being treated for minor injuries after a bus accident. But when he returned to his bed, he found himself dead with chunks of neck. Six months later, Eun-seol lost her coma. But he had no memories of his entire life until he was awakened in the hospital, and his left eye turned blue without scientific explanation. He also gained the unique ability to "see" scents as visible colors and shapes, and was even able to keep track of where people were because their lingering scents were like a trail. To protect him, Jae-pyo adopts him and invents him a new life and tells him that he is his real father and that his name is Oh Cho-rim. Another six months passed, and Cho-rim was a happy woman adapted to her abilities. He dreamed of becoming a comedian and worked as a gopher in a small, struggling theater company called Frog Troupe. Mu-gak, on the other hand, was so traumatized by his sister's death that he was injured and died within ten days of two months of insomnia and constant pain at the clinic. When he woke up, he lost his sense of smell and taste and no longer felt pain. And unlike his formerly warm personality, Mu-gak is now stoic, emotional, and monotonous. He left his job at the aquarium to become a police officer and promised to reopen the case and arrest the killer. To do so, however, he must first be promoted to detective, and in about ten days he must prove himself to the head of the homicide department, Detective Kang Hyuk (Lee Won-young), that he can apply for a promotion again. Cho-rim also needs a shooting partner for his upcoming ten-day audition, and if he offers to help him with his cases instead, they decide to cooperate. After the model (Park Han-byul), who appears to be another victim of the serial killer Barcode, dies, Mu-gak joins an investigation led by Lieutenant Ye Jin-yo and investigates two possible suspicions: girlfriend, chef Kwon Jae-hee (Namgung Min) and her doctor (Song Jong-ho).
